Divisibility Rule of 6

Divisibility Rule of 6:

A number to be divisible by 6, it must also be divisible by 2 and 3.

Justification:

In case of a composite number we will consider the co-prime factors of a composite number.

We will then check the divisibility with each co-prime factor.

A number is divisible by a composite number, only when it is divisible by each co-prime factors of that number.

In case of 6 the co-prime factors are 2 and 3

So for a number to be divisible by 6, it must also be divisible by both 2 and 3. Therefore, we need to check if a number is even and then check if the sum of the digits is divisible by 3.
